Power Supplies are designed for 600 watt applications.

Press Release Summary:

EK Series Power Supplies offer voltage range from 1 to 60 kV in 3.5 in. high rack mount units. They feature air-insulation technology, where air is used as primary dielectric medium rather than silicon rubber, epoxy or oil. Arc sensing and quench circuitry suppress arcing conditions that can occur regularly in high voltage applications, and provide safety and protection for power supply and customer load.

Glassman High Voltage Introduces New EK Series Power Supply For 600 Watt Power Requirements

Glassman High Voltage, Inc., one of the leading manufacturers of Regulated High Voltage DC Power Supplies, has introduced a new family of power supplies designed for applications having 600 watt output power requirements. The EK series offers a voltage range from 1 to 60kV while providing low ripple and noise, tight regulation, and fast response time in a 3.5" high rack mount
unit.

According to Jeremy Simon, Director of Sales and Marketing at Glassman, "We have seen a recent rise in demand for 600 watt output power devices, specifically in the research area. Glassman can now offer it's customer's a power supply sub-system that will fully meet their requirement's, and eliminate the need to upgrade to the larger 1000 watt models when not necessary." He added, "Many users of our 500 watt EW and WK models, who need additional output power for their application modality now have a more cost-effective choice of upgrading to 600 watts versus the larger models."

As with the previously announced SH series of 8-40kW power supplies, the new EK series features two notable technology benefits 1: Glassman's proprietary air-insulation technology-where air is used as the primary dielectric medium, in comparison to competitive models that utilize silicon rubber, epoxy or oil. Air offers distinct advantages from both a long-
term reliability standpoint and serviceability over the extended life of the product. 2: Proprietary arc sensing and quench circuitry that will suppress arcing conditions that can occur regularly in high voltage applications and provide maximum safety and protection for both the power supply and customer load.

This feature makes the EK ideal for use with X-ray, E-Gun and Cyclotron applications to name a few.

"The new EK series is a direct response to the needs of our customers," says Simon. "Our willingness to invest in our customers' specific high voltage needs and provide the highest
quality product has been the cornerstone of Glassman's leadership position since 1977."

The EK series is CE Mark certified and as an option offers power factor correction for applications or customers that require this feature.
