Lambda Adds Line of Medically Approved Power Supplies with 5-Year Warranty
SAN DIEGO, October 5, 2006 - Lambda has extended its popular HWS family of power supplies - which come with a five-year warranty - to include medically approved versions. The HWS/ME series single-output supplies are ideal for powering non-surgical medical equipment that requires long, reliable field life, such as MRI scanners and blood analyzers.
The units are available with nominal output voltages ranging from 5 to 48 volts in 30-, 50-, 100- and 150-watt power levels, with a smaller range of outputs on the 300- and 600-watt packages (which feature current share and remote on/off signaling). To accommodate non-standard system voltages, the output voltage can be adjusted ±20% on 5- through 24-volt models and from -20% to +10% on 48-volt models.
The HWS/ME series accepts a broad range of input voltages - from 85 to 265 VAC - and complies with EN61000-3-2 harmonic correction standards. The units can be operated across a wide temperature range of -10ºC to +70ºC, derating above 50 ºC.
Five compact mechanical configurations are offered, ranging in size from 1.04 x 3.23 x 3.74 inches (30-watt models) to 3.94 x 3.23 x 6.5 inches (600-watt models). All units are only 3.23 inches high, making them suitable for mounting in a 2U rack.
The power supplies meet Class B EMI standards (30 to 300 watts), radiated and conducted; are CE marked; and are safety approved to UL60601-1, CSA-C22.2 No6011-M90 and EN60601-1 (basic insulation), with a leakage current of less than 500 microamps. They also meet EN61000-4-X immunity standards.
