Power Module adds high voltage I/O to controls.

Press Release Summary:

Power I/O Wildcard(TM) provides 8 high-current opto-isolated outputs and 4 high-voltage opto-isolated inputs, making it easy to interface high voltage peripherals to instrumentation or automation. Outputs are intended for on/off control or pulse width modulation of high current devices such as motors, relays, heaters, and solenoids. Inputs sense bipolar voltages of 5 to 50 Vdc. Inputs and outputs are optically isolated to 2500 V. Board connects to company's Panel-Touch Controller(TM).

Power Module Adds High Voltage Peripherals To Your Instrument

The new Power I/O Wildcard(tm) released by Mosaic Industries provides eight high-current opto-isolated outputs and four high-voltage opto-isolated inputs, making it a snap to interface high voltage peripherals to your instrumentation or automation project.

Each high current MOSFET output sinks 2 amps continuously or up to 10 amps intermittently at up to 50 VDC, and is snub-diode protected against kickback from inductive loads. The current sinking outputs are intended for ON/OFF control or pulse width modulation (PWM) of high - current devices such as motors, relays, heaters, and solenoids. The high voltage inputs sense bipolar voltages of 5 to 50 VDC and include optional pull-up resistors to enable monitoring of contact closure devices including switches. Inputs and outputs are optically isolated to 2500 volts.

This tiny 2" by 2.5" board is a member of the Wildcard series that connects to the Panel-Touch Controller(tm). The Panel-Touch Controller(tm), a C-programmable embedded computer with a built-in graphical user interface, integrates an I/O-rich QED Flash Board with a high contrast backlit graphics display, a transparent touchscreen overlay, and pre-coded menuing software. Other features include two RS232/485 serial ports, 256K Flash, 128K RAM, eight 12-bit A/D inputs, eight 8-bit DAC outputs, and 24 digital I/O lines. Pre-coded I/O drivers facilitate data acquisition, pulse width modulation, motor control, frequency measurement, data analysis, analog control, and communications. The Panel-Touch Controller promotes a high level of software/hardware integration for rapid prototyping of new products.
