Coherent Molectron Introduces LaserGage(TM) Industrial Laser Power Meters
Santa Clara, Calif., February 21, 2003 - Coherent Molectron (Portland, OR) introduces the LaserGage family of portable, 9V battery-operated, microprocessor-controlled, industrial laser power meters.
Consisting of the LG100 and LG500, the LaserGage family enables users to quickly and accurately spot check industrial laser power. Readouts are displayed in watts on an easy-to-read 2-line by 12-character display.
"In developing LaserGage we took the current thermometer technology and substantially improved it by making it faster, more accurate and much easier to use," said Burt Mooney, director of sales for Coherent Molectron. "Now with LaserGage, within five seconds you can read the power in watts on the digital display. Also, repeat measurements can be made in rapid succession without a cooling-off period. And it's easy to retrieve previously-stored measurements."
LG100 features a 10- to 100-watt power range with 0.1-watt power resolution. LG500 features a 50- to 500-watt range with 0.5-watt power resolution. Calibrated to NIST standards, LaserGage meters exhibit ±3% accuracy and ±5% repeatability.
LaserGage power meters can be set to automatically trigger to a laser beam and then self-time the five-second power measurement. Or, to ensure user safety, the device can be remotely operated while inside a guarded Class 1 laser environment. LaserGage power meters are also equipped with an AUTO-OFF feature to conserve battery life.
