Eaton's Power Xpert Reporting Identifies Energy Efficiency, Power Quality Opportunities

RALEIGH, N.C.... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced the release of Eaton Power Xpert® Reporting software that helps facility, Information Technology (IT) and energy managers benchmark existing energy usage and power consumption in their power distribution systems, allowing energy and cost saving opportunities to be quickly identified and implemented. Power Xpert Reporting can aggregate data from multiple Power Xpert® Software and Foreseer® databases, comprehensive solutions for system-level management of the power infrastructure, to provide a complete enterprise-level view of power consumption and energy usage. Environmental stewardship and innovative power management have been elevated to a primary business focus as enterprises take steps to create a sustainable environment for future generations. When combined with Eaton's Power Xpert Software or Foreseer, Power Xpert Reporting is designed to enable energy cost allocation, compare power consumption, monitor branch circuits and summarize overall power quality. It also plays a key role in helping customers adopt "green" strategies and qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Power Xpert Reporting aggregates power and energy data into standard report formats. There are seven reports built into the software; these reports include easy-to-understand tabular and graphical displays that allow users to identify energy-saving opportunities and address power anomalies. These ready-to-go reports can be set to run automatically and send users new, updated versions via e-mail at predefined intervals. "Seeing the forest for the trees can be difficult, especially when trying to detect trends and patterns in electrical power distribution," said Marcus Maxwell, product manager, Eaton software and meter products. "Power Xpert Reporting offers several solutions that assist in reducing energy consumption and minimizing costs and environmental impacts associated with excessive energy use." Additional benefits of Power Xpert Reporting include:
o Standard reports such as capacity summary, branch circuit monitoring, energy summary, energy cost allocation and power quality, as well as a standard JCAHO-compliant report to support hospital power test requirements
o Reporting hierarchies that organize device data for easy access
o Custom report configuration from a standard Web browser
o Data aggregation from multiple Power Xpert Software and Foreseer systems across the network For additional information about Power Xpert Reporting, visit www.eaton.com/pxr.
