Server Technology Launches New Downloadable Version of Sentry Power Manager Featuring Improved Data Center Power Measurement Accuracy Capabilities and FTP Server Functionality

Upgraded Version 4.3.2 supports Per Inlet Power Sensing (PIPS(TM)) Cabinet Power Distribution Unit (CDUs) and features Integrated FTP Server for Automated CDU Firmware Upgrades

RENO, Nev. - Server Technology, Inc., the global leader for Power Distribution Units and Power Measurement and Monitoring Solutions, today introduced the latest update to the Sentry Power Manager (SPM) solution, version 4.3.2. "We're excited about the continued improvements made within our CDU products and the ability for Sentry Power Manager, our power monitoring and measurement solution, to support them," said Brandon Ewing, president of Server Technology. This new version with PIPS support provides a whole new level of information at the inlet level. The accuracy that this provides will give data center professionals what they need to manage their mission critical operations more efficiently and more cost effectively than ever before," said Ewing.

"We've proven that measuring at the inlet level is significantly more accurate than measuring at the Remote Power Panel level," said Ewing. This new downloadable version of SPM also serves as an integrated FTP server for automated CDU firmware upgrades. Each CDU will compare the firmware version on the CDU against the version stored in the ftp server located within SPM and upgrade the CDUs firmware accordingly.

"Through our customer-driven innovation process and superior engineering, we continue to expand the capabilities of our Sentry Power Manager solution. When used in combination with our cabinet power distribution units, SPM is the most comprehensive and affordable solution available today to measure, monitor and trend power and environmental information in your data center," said Ewing.

The latest version of SPM supports larger device deployments and new scheduling options for database maintenance, backups, outlet control, device discovery and options for daily, weekly or monthly reports. SPM also provides support for third-party power distribution units (PDUs), including APC, Geist and Raritan. Other new features include improved logging and Environmental Monitoring Control Unit (EMCU) support for additional temperature, humidity, dry contact and water sensor monitoring.
