Bi Technologies Develops Family of Low Profile Surface Mount Power Inductors
ANAHEIM, CA (February 26, 2007) - Providing design engineers with inductive devices spanning a range of sizes and inductance values to suit a variety of applications, TT electronics BI Technologies Magnetic Components Division has developed a new family of surface mount power inductors in four low-profile package types. Designated the HM62 Series, the inductors exhibit high self-resonant frequencies up to Q value.
"With their wide range of inductance values and profiles as low as 1.0mm, the HM62 power inductors are being specified for space-constrained applications," said David Smolik, Director of Product Development for TT electronics BI Technologies Magnetics Division. "Their low profile makes the inductors ideal for handheld, portable electronic devices including iPods, MP3 players, cell phones, cameras and PDAs."
The HM62 Series family includes:
o HM62-2610: low profile (1.0mm height) inductor with inductance values from 1.0µH to 22.0µH (@100KHz, 0.1Vrms, 0A) and absolute tolerance to ±20% and ±30% (depending on inductance value);
o HM62-3014: low profile (1.4mm height) inductor with inductance values from 1.0µH to 100.0µH (@100KHz, 0.1Vrms, 0A) and absolute tolerance to ±20%;
o HM62-3015C: low profile (1.5mm height) inductor with inductance values from 1.5µH to 47.0µH (@100KHz, 0.1Vrms, 0A) and absolute tolerance to ±20% and ±30% (depending on inductance value);
o HM62-3515: low profile (1.5mm height) inductor with inductance values from 2.2µH to 220.0µH (@100KHz, 0.1Vrms, 0A) and absolute tolerance to ±20%.
All inductors in the HM62 Series family feature an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The inductors are offered in both shielded and non-shielded packages.
Typical pricing for the HM62 Series is approximately $0.25 to $0.35 depending on volume, with delivery from stock to 10 weeks.
