New 70-to 100-Ampere CUBEFuse(TM) Delivers Class J Performance in Smallest Footprint

ST. LOUIS-(September 16, 2003) - A 70-to 100-ampere version of the Cooper Bussmann CUBEFuse(TM) is now available. The CUBEFuse delivers Class J Time-Delay performance from a circuit protection device requiring substantially less space than a standard 100-ampere Class J fuse block. The 100-ampere version meets many control panel application needs from main incoming service to small branch circuits.

The CUBEFuse footprint is the smallest of any power class fuse on the market. Its unique rectangular construction optimizes mounting space resulting in a small footprint that frees up panel space for other components. A 3-pole 100-ampere CUBEFuse holder occupies approximately 1/3 the space of a standard 100-ampere Class J fuseblock.

The Bussmann CUBEFuse, the world's first "finger-safe" industrial power fuse, uses an industry-first recessed blade style terminal. The blades are positioned and provided with an extended insulating sleeve to prevent personal contact with any energized component of the CUBEFuse during normal operation. The fuse holders are designed for snapping onto a 35mm DIN rail or mounted directly to the back plane of a panel. The fuse holder also uses a unique dovetail design that allows 30-ampere, 60-ampere and 100-ampere units to be ganged together. Eliminating the need for fuse reducers, the 30-ampere fuse may be inserted into the 60-ampere fuse holder and the 60-ampere fuse may be inserted into the 100-ampere fuse holder. The wire terminals are rated for dual wire termination. The CUBEFuse also offers permanent open fuse indication through a prominent front-panel viewport.
