IBM 7014 Rack Power Distribution Unit, Power Cords, and Miscellaneous Features



Overview
You can now configure your IBM 7014-T00 or 7014-T42 rack with the universal PDU (#7188), which supports a wide range of country requirements and electrical power specifications. The same PDU is used for all applications.

Nine different power cord features can be used to connect the PDU to a wall power outlet. Each power cord provides the unique design characteristics for the required application. Each feature 7188 PDU provides 12 C13 power outlets for use within a rack, compared to nine C13 power outlets provided by the previous generation of PDUs.

Customers who already own 7014 racks, with PDU features 7176 or
7177 installed, can now order a range of different power cord
features to connect the PDU to a wall power outlet. Previously, these power cords could be specified only in the initial order of the rack. Now you will have greater flexibility when power requirements change.

This announcement also includes new rack content specify codes for installing server models 520, 550, and 570 in a rack and new thin profile front trim kits that provide the additional clearance required for the eServer p5 570 bezel.
