E-T-A Introduces Compact Power Distribution Solution



Whatever your application, this is the 1U need

June 4, 2007 - Mt. Prospect, IL - E-T-A Circuit Protection & Control is pleased to announce its newest 1U power distribution solution. A system designed around the reality that a standard power distribution solution does not exist. Interchangeable breaker modules allow customers to select the overcurrent protection that their applications require. Each module is designed to be populated with either E-T-A's 1180 or 482 thermal circuit breakers-depending on the degree of protection necessary.

Applications

The compact design of the X482R and X1180R make them the ideal solution for integration into any 19" or 23" rack. The 1U size allows design engineers to increase the amount of overcurrent protection while reducing the amount of space used - more commonly known as a high power to volume ratio.

All components are RoHS compliant and all plastics meet flammability ratings of UL94 V-0/VTM-0. Each module is intended for 3-wire installation, which minimizes interference by isolating ground from the power return conductors.

Specifications

X482R:

Considered E-T-A's high performance solution for DC applications, the X482R contains two breaker modules that each accommodate 8, 482 thermal circuit breakers up to 50A. E-T-A has created eight standard configurations offering 1 to 4 supply feeds at an operating voltage up to 72 VDC. 482 circuit breakers are available from 0.1...50A and have a tease-free / trip-free mechanism and push/ pull manual actuation. The breaker's plug-in terminals allows tool free breaker installation and replacement.

X1180R:

The X1180R contains two breaker modules that each accommodate 12, 1180 thermal circuit breakers up to 10A, and can be used for the protection of both AC* and DC applications. Two standard configurations are available with 1 or 2 supply feeds and an operating voltage up to 72 VDC/ 250 VAC. 1180 circuit breakers are available from 0.1...10A and have a trip-free mechanism and push/push manual actuation. Like the 482, the 1180 has plug-in terminals which allows tool free breaker installation and replacement.

The X482R-X1180R hybrid module is also available which allows the user to protect both high and low current DC applications concurrently off one common distribution unit. Six module configurations are available with 1, 2 or 3 supply feeds and an operating voltage up to 72 VDC and a maximum current output of 520A per panel.

Availability and Pricing

The X482R, X1180R, and the X482R-X1180R are available in 18 standard configurations and are available with a 3-7 week lead time for production (orders are being accepted now with an estimated delivery the beginning of August 2007). Breaker modules are priced between $450 - $860 in volume. Circuit breakers must be purchased separately depending on your overcurrent protection requirements.
