The Sivacon 8PT low-voltage switchgear from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will be available at the Hanover Industrial Fair with new features, for example, for applications in public institutions for which busways (busbar distribution systems) with type-tested distribution terminals are specified. The busways can be quickly planned and installed thanks to standardized components such as the flange-type terminals. Further advantages of busways over cables are the ease with which modifications and expansions can be implemented and the reduced fire load. For fields of application such as on-board ship, mobile offshore units or in earthquake zones as well as in nuclear power plants, the power distribution system has DNV certification (Det Norske Veritas) and the necessary test reports.
