Larson Electronics LLC Releases New Hazardous Location Power Distribution System
Larson Electronics LLC, a leading industrial lighting company, announced the release of a new hazardous location power distribution system. Built with C1D2 compliant equipment, this power distribution system is designed for operators to power their three-phase 480V and 120V equipment within Class I, Division 2 rated areas such as shipyards, industrial plants and construction sites.
The P-MPD-480.3P-15KVA-2X480.60-6X120.20 hazardous location power distribution system allows operators to power their 480 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system for a safer, more reliable connection. 480 volt line-in power connects to the primary side to two 60-amp 480V FSQC5640 receptacles and six, 20-amp 120V explosion proof receptacles connect to 120V equipment on the secondary side. All connections between the disconnect and transformer, and the transformer and secondary panel consist of flexible heavy-duty SOOW cords to protect against wet, oily conditions. The receptacles are mounted to an aluminum back panel for easy access and equipped with weatherproof covers.
This portable power distribution system is designed for serious use in heavy-duty industrial applications and demanding conditions. The assembly is mounted via a standard non-sparking square aluminum tube frame onto a non-sparking aluminum platform for rigidity and durability. Safety and portability features include forklift skid pockets, a top-located lifting eyelet for easy transportation with chain hooks or cable, and 8” non-sparking locking casters. This system is built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor usage protecting against dirt, water and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment is available upon request.
