Ultra-Low Current Consumption Comparators Announced By Seiko
Torrance. CA, December 18, 2001......Seiko Instruments introduces two families of ultra-low power consumption comparators, the S-892xxA and S-8953xA/B series. Packaged in the SC-88A casing, both ICs are designed for low current consumption, making them perfect for battery-operated applications such as cellular phones, PDAs, digital video cameras, notebook PCs, digital cameras and portable audio devices. The S-8953xA/B also comes in the 8-pin SON(A) packaging.
The S-8953xA/B series is a CMOS comparator that features Rail-to-Rail input/output, 0.9 V low-voltage operation and an ultra-low current consumption of 0.7 microA (typ.). It also has a low input offset voltage of 5.0 mV (max.) for the S-89530A/B and 10 mV (max.) for the S-89531A/B. The S-8953xA has one comparator and the S-8953xB is a dual comparator. The S-892xxA features low operating voltage (VDD = 1.8 to 5.5 V), low current consumption [I DD = 50 microA (S-89210ACNC) and I DD = 10 microA (S-89220ACNC)], and low input offset voltage (4.0 mV max).
