Power Connectors have current ratings of 150-250 A.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring minimum of 100 db insertion loss up to 6 GHz and EMI attenuation up to 6 GHz, ACARA(TM) filtered electrical power connectors have capacitance values from 220-2,100 nF. UL-listed and EN-approved units have ability to prevent RF emission and protect sensitive computers, switchgear, and cellular equipment. Positive latch prevents accidental unmating, but allows for immediate power disconnect for emergency service.

Original Press Release:

Schaffner EMC Adds Higher Amperage Connectors to its ACARA Line of EMI Filtered Electrical Power Connectors

EDISON, N.J., August 2006 -- Schaffner EMC, a leading provider of EMI/RFI components, has partnered with Anderson Power Products® to extend its series of EMI filtered electrical power connectors. The two new ACARA(TM) filtered connectors, with current ratings of
150 amps to 250 amps, provide excellent EMI attenuation to very high frequencies of up to 6 GHz.

The ACARA filtered connectors are available in a variety of capacitance values from 220 nF to 2,100 nF. Their ability to prevent RF emission and protect sensitive computers, switchgear and cellular equipment makes them applicable to central office equipment and large enterprise servers, as well as for use in the military, broadcast, solar/wind power and oil exploration industries.

This new line of connectors features at least 100 db insertion loss up to 6 GHz with excellent attenuation beyond 6 GHz. In addition, the ACARA system lowers the total installed cost by reducing the number of components, wire preparation and crimping by up to 80 percent.

The male connector on the line side, which is attached to the DC cable, is designed for fast,
error-proof assembly, while the female power connector on the load side, installed in the unit, is polarized to the male connector to further reduce the risk of installation error.

A positive latch prevents accidental unmating, but allows for an immediate power disconnect in case of emergency service or repair. Neither mating nor unmating requires an electrician, and polarized housings only mate one way to prevent reverse polarity. Also, its six-position user-selective key helps prevent unintentional mating of similar ACARA connectors.

The ACARA crimp socket contact provides superior electrical performance, hot mating, low insertion forces and high mating durability, and the design, which employs a high conductivity copper alloy and a steel spring, supplies superior conductivity and precise contact forces.

The insulator and cable clamp are made of PBT UL94V-0, the ground plate is copper alloy with tin plate and the capacitor is wound metalized film. The connectors are
UL-listed and EN-approved. The operating temperature is -25°C to +100°C (-13°F to +212°F). The ambient temperature range is -25°C to +60°C (-13°F to +140°F).
