Power Cables withstand severe temperatures.

Press Release Summary:

Chainflex® CF9 and CF10 continuous-flex cables are equipped with bare copper conductors and are resistant to oil, frost, and exceptionally low/high temperatures. Insulation and jacket are flexible, anti-abrasive thermoplastic polyester containing fire retardants. Non-porous outer jacket repels oil and cutting fluids. CF9 comes in multi-conductor layouts from 24-2 AWG, while CF10 is offered from 26-12 AWG. Temperature resistance for both cables is -32 to +212°F.

Chainflex CF9 and CF10 Cables From igus Withstand the Most Severe Temperature Conditions

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - December 8, 2004 -Igus® Inc., the leading developer of Energy Chain Systems®, Chainflex® cables and iglide® plastic bearings, offers a wide array of continuous-flex cables, including those that can withstand the most severe temperature conditions. Chainflex cables are designed for use in cable carrier systems on automated, mobile machinery. Many of these cables have also been developed to suit the needs of special application circumstances. Two of the most resistant cables to emerge from this family are the CF9 and the CF10 power cables. These cables are equipped with bare copper conductors with superior flexibility and are fully resistant to oil, frost and exceptionally low or high temperatures. They are also halogen-free for a safer working environment.

Chainflex CF9 and CF10 are well-suited for applications including machine tools, construction equipment, test instruments and packaging equipment. They are capable of achieving smaller bending radii (five times the diameter, and in some cases, less) and feature smaller diameters than most cables. This is due to the thin-wall design of both the conductor insulation and the outer jacket. The insulation and jacket are made from flexible, anti-abrasive thermoplastic polyester containing fire retardants for increased resistance. The non-porous outer jacket effectively repels oil and cutting fluids.

CF9 is available in multi-conductor layouts from 24 to two AWG, while the CF10 is offered from 26 to 12 AWG. Temperature resistance for both cables ranges from -32 Fahrenheit to +212 Fahrenheit. As with all Chainflex cables, the outer jacket is extruded over the conductors for a snug fit. For maximum performance and life, those with more than 12 conductors are braided before being set against the flexible fiber core. CF9 and CF10 cables also deliver an impressive performance in high chemical environments.
