New Micro-Fit 3.0, BMI(TM) Connectors from Molex Enable Blind-Mating for Power and Signal Applications



Achieve up to five AMPs of power with the new connectors that Molex Incorporated has added to its Micro-Fit 3.0, BMI(TM) interconnect line. This versatile power and signal connector system is designed for blind mate applications. The plugs and headers feature a funnel entry to guide the mating receptacle or receptacle header into place. These connectors are ideal for computer (servers, notebook PCs, fan tray assemblies and power supplies) and backplane applications.

The Micro-Fit 3.0, BMI system is fully polarized for proper mating and features fully isolated contacts for electrical and mechanical integrity. Wire-to-wire, wire-to-board and board-to-board styles in vertical and right angle versions are available. This system can be used in horizontal, right angle and coplanar board-to-board applications and can be ordered in circuit sizes 4 to 24.

Pricing for these products depends on quantity and style. For example, when purchased in quantities of 100,000, the tin-plated right-angle receptacle header would cost $677 per thousand. Typical lead time is three to four weeks.
