Press Release Summary:
Redispersible powder additive, ELOTEX® ERA100, forms microscopic particles that seal pores in stuccos, tile grouts, skim coats, cement powder paints, and other cement-based mortar systems. Preventing chemicals that cause efflorescence from migrating to surface results in clean, bright, unblemished architectural appearance. Compatible with other additives, this active, resin-based compound has no detrimental effects on working properties and also increases water repellency.

Elotex Introduces Anti-Efflorescence Additive for Cement-based Mortar Systems
BRIDGEWATER, NJ, January 29, 2008 - Elotex (www.elotex.com), a business unit of National Starch and Chemical Company, has introduced ELOTEX® ERA100, a redispersible powder additive designed to eliminate primary efflorescence in stuccos, tile grouts, skim coats, cement powder paints and other cement-based mortar systems.
"ERA100 works by forming microscopic particles that seal the pores in mortars, so the chemicals that cause efflorescence are prevented from migrating to the surface. This provides a clean, bright, unblemished architectural surface," said Joe Palmer, Business Director, Elotex Americas.
A highly active, resin-based anti-efflorescence compound, ELOTEX ERA100 exhibits good mixing properties, is compatible with other additives, and has no detrimental effects on working properties. When cured, ELOTEX ERA100 eliminates or drastically reduces the occurrence of primary efflorescence and increases water repellency.
