Original Press Release:

Electro-Mech's Tactile Feel Potentiometer Switch Requires Less Behind Panel Depth

SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif., July 30, 2007 - Electro-Mech's new SW44511 tactile feel momentary potentiometer switch offers both rotary and push-on functionality for maximum operation control. The compact all-in-one unit saves valuable panel space in applications where there are tight design limitations.

The SPST switch enables the user to specify a value so that at the push of a button, the circuit or channel automatically opens at the preset level. Featuring a momentary edge lit knob and a momentary tactile feel pushbutton switch, the SW44511 offers a shorter behind panel depth and lower cost than Electro-Mech's mechanical switch versions. Typical applications for the SW44511 switch include industrial/avionics displays and audio controls, instrument panel controls, and other high-density panels.

Lightweight, the compact unit weighs less than one ounce and measures ½" square body. The SW44511 requires less than one inch of space behind the panel and mounts via a ¼" threaded bushing to the front panel. Interconnection is provided via either wire leads or solder terminals.

The SW44511 is rated at 5-24 VDC, 1-50 mA resistive. Potentiometer resistance is 10KW±10% but can be customer specified. Other features provided by the SW44511 include momentary tactile feel switching, operating pressure of 14 oz. (±5 oz.), plunger travel of approximately 0.080", and a rated switch life of 1,000,000 minimum actuations.

Unit pricing is $15.00 at 1,000 pieces (without knob) depending upon options with delivery of 10 weeks ARO. Complete specifications are available on request.
