Product Description: Characterized by an elegant, large-scale
translucent acorn-shaped globe, Design ACT-16 decorative post-top
luminaires combine lasting charm with state-of-the-art lighting
technology. Quality Lighting's internal spectrum metal reflector system - with sharp cutoff and rotatable anti-light trespass optional - maximizes light output from a single vertically oriented high-pressured sodium or metal halide lamp in a range of wattages. The rotationally molded, UV-stabilized polycarbonate globe diffuses emitted light to minimize harmful, distracting glare. Standard or high-power ballasts, with single or double fusing, can be fitted for application versatility.
The Design ACT-16 Acorn features an internal slip fitter or an
optional twist-lock fitter for mounting on pole-tops with 2-7/8- and 4-inch tenons. Design ACT-16 Acorn fixtures are UL and CUL
listed for wet locations.
Construction & Finishes: The Design ACT-16 Acorn housing
features durable, yet lightweight, aluminum construction. The ballast housing is spun aluminum, while the globe holder is cast aluminum. Textured polyester powder coat is electrostatically applied to the glob holder and the top finial, following a five-step pre-treatment process, which includes an iron phosphate priming state for maximum coating adhesion. Paint finishes meet or exceed ASTM requirements for a 1,000-hour salt-spray test. All external hardware is stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The decorative finial is a non-ferrous metal and
is gasketed to the top of the globe to prevent infiltration of water, insects or debris.
