Position Sensors feature pressure equalization technology.

Press Release Summary:

Series LWX linear displacement transducers feature internal membrane and nozzle that maintain seal and equalize pressure. IP67-rated units include twin-bearing actuating rod and backlash-free pivot heads to eliminate external side-load errors while permitting up to ±25° angle of movement. Linearity is ±0.05% and resolution is better than 0.01 mm. Electrical stroke lengths include 150, 225, 300, 450, 500, 600, and 750 mm. Operating temperature is -40 to +100°C.

Original Press Release:

New Pressure Equalized Position Sensor

Southborough, MA...Novotechnik is introducing the LWX, a heavy-duty sealed position transducer with all metal housing and features a new, patented pressure equalization technology to prevent pressure build-up that, until now, occurred in sealed rod type sensors, and is known as the "pump effect".

LWX linear displacement transducers are designed for reliable operation in hostile environments where high-pressure equipment wash downs, grease and other contaminants are present. Key components are an internal membrane and nozzle to maintain seal and equalize pressure while maintaining performance.

Applications include mobile hydraulics in transportation vehicles, robotics for manufacturing plants and other harsh environments.

Features include sealing to IP-67, as well as twin-bearing actuating rod and backlash free pivot heads to eliminate external side-load errors while permitting up to ±25° angle of movement. Linearity is ±0.05% and resolution better than 0.01 mm.

LWX transducers are available in seven electrical stroke lengths: 150, 225, 300, 450, 500, 600 and 750mm. Other specifications include operation at temperatures from -40°C to +100°C and 5 to 2,000 Hz vibration at 20 G, as well as 50 G/11 ms shock.
