INCON INTRODUCES NEW POSITION MONITOR FOR HYDRO APPLICATIONS
Model 1250B Designed for Gate & Valve Monitoring
SACO, MAINE, INCON (AMEX: ITC.EC) - INCON announces the release of the Model 1250B Programmable Position Monitor specifically designed to accept inputs from rotary synchro transmitter devices. The Model 1250B is configured to give proportional gate/valve position signals that can be interpreted as position in "Percent-of-Closed" status. Other uses include the monitoring of gate, valve, or shaft positions at hydroelectric, flood control, water treatment, and manufacturing facilities.
Easily adapted for specific applications through a menu-driven setup mode, the Model 1250B performs nonlinear conversions and can display data in user-defined units such as degrees, percent, inches or feet on its large, five-digit LED panel. Optional relay outputs can trigger alarms or automated controls when pre-set limits are reached. The Model 1250B uses battery-backed RAM memory to retain operating status and programmed parameters during power interruptions.
Rick Sale, VP Sales and Marketing of INCON, stated, "The new monitor product was specifically developed for the growing needs of the Hydro industry. We are very excited to bring about this level of accuracy to all of our Hydro customers."
The Model 1250B is also adaptable to various communication modes. A standard ASCII RS-232 or optional RS-485 "Modbus" communication port is provided for serial remote display indication, data logging, chart recording, and other uses. Additionally, other outputs (proportional analog, parallel BCD
or binary) are available for supervision via SCADA or other remote monitoring systems.
