Route1 Launches MobiKEY Administration and Provisioning Portal
MAP enables network administrators to manage the distribution, allocation and usage of MobiKEY devices across the enterprise
TORONTO, Jan. 11 /- Route1 Inc.(TM) (TSX-V:ROI), a trusted provider of security and identity management network solutions, today announced the MobiKEY Administration and Provisioning portal (MAP). MAP is designed to provide enterprises with greater control over user access to network applications and resources with the Route1 MobiKEY, an ultra-portable computing device that securely connects users to desktop and network resources from any Internet-enabled Windows-based PC.
Ideal for large-scale enterprise deployments from 50 to tens of thousands of MobiKEY subscribers, MAP enables network administrators to easily add and remove users, revoke digital certificates, conduct audits on usage, and modify subscriber rights and privileges. Policies can also be created to limit user connections to enterprise resources, enable remote printing, establish security zones for user access, and customize the number of hosts that can be assigned to each MobiKEY.

MAP Features
o Auditing controls enable network administrators to manage how many MobiKEYs are authorized to access network resources, while ensuring users adhere to policies designed to safeguard networks from unauthorized access;
o Multifactor authentication and client-side certificates are used to ensure administration remains a highly secure process;
o A local registration authority (LRA) enables administrators to validate users and effectively control and manage the lifecycle of certificates, from selecting which users are assigned security certificates, to revoking them in the case of loss, theft or change in employee status;
o Enterprises are able to assign their own internal IT resources to manage the distribution and allocation of MobiKEYs, and usage policies.
Citrus and Chemical Bank is among the first Route1 customers to take advantage of MAP. According to Jamie Orth, Network Manager at the Polk County, Florida-based bank, "Having a centralized management capability is especially important in a highly regulated industry. With MAP, I can assign keys, keep a running inventory of who has them, turn them off when needed, and track hours that people are logged on.
