New Portable Submersible Pumps Recommended For Limited Space Dewatering

ITT Flygt Corp., Trumbull, CT, has introduced two new submersible pumps with a slim design, ideal for dewatering construction sites, trenches, and deep excavations. When installed in driven pipes, they are excellent at lowering the underground water table. The new Bibo BS 2102 and BS 2125, with diameters of 11-1/2" and 14-3/8", respectively, can be used in tight spaces and inside small pipes. The high-head BS 2125 develops up to 240 feet of head, delivering up to 240 GPM of liquid, while the standard version pumps up to 850 GPM.

Bibo BS 2102 is available in 230 V single-phase and 230/460/575 V three-phase versions and is rated 6 HP (single phase) and 8 HP (three phase). The BS 2125 is available in 230/460/575 V three-phase versions, and is rated at 13 HP.

Bibo BS 2102 and BS 2125 have 4" standard NPSM discharges, while the high-head 2102 is equipped with a 3" discharge. The new models employ aluminum alloy major castings, stainless steel shaft and tungsten carbide seals. The units' stainless steel outer jackets are corrosion resistant.

The pumps feature two independent mechanical seals running in FDA approved non-toxic lubricant. The abrasion resistant tungsten carbide/carbon seals are designed for long life and minimal wear. The class H insulated motors, operating in air, are safer, more efficient, and easier to service than oil-filled motors. The motors can deliver up to 10 starts per hour, and have built-in thermal sensors for overload protection.
