Portable Spectrophotometers offer wireless communication.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with color LCD screen, vertical-format CM-700d and CM-600d enable color patches to be shown for target and sample. Measurement tips are narrow, minimizing limitations on what can be measured, including flat, protruding, and sunken areas. Model CM-700d allows measurement area to be switched between Ø8 mm and Ø3 mm, while Model CM-600d has fixed measurement area of Ø8 mm. Bluetooth communication enables wireless transmission of data to computer or mobile printer.

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Introduces New Spectrophotometers CM-700d / 600d

The CM-700d and CM-600d are compact, lightweight, portable spectrophotometers with
color LCD and wireless communication.

RAMSEY, N.J. - November 28, 2007 - Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (KMSA), a
worldwide leader in measuring, matching, reproducing, and communicating Color and Light, introduces the Spectrophotometer CM-700d and CM-600d, two compact, lightweight, portable vertical-format spectrophotometers that offer advanced features including Bluetooth wireless communication and a color LCD screen to provide major improvements in mobility and operability.

The CM-700d and CM-600d are two spectrophotometers that promise the same high
performance as previous Konica Minolta models in more compact, lightweight, highly portable bodies, with a wide range of functions to meet customer needs. These models are approximately 25% smaller in volume than our previous models as well as approximately 20% lighter. They employ a vertical body that is easy to hold with good stability for greater ease of use. In addition, they are equipped with Bluetooth wireless communication functions, enabling wireless transmission of measurement data to a computer, mobile printer, etc. This allows for greater maneuverability for measurement work on location and on production lines without the limitations
of conventional communication cables.

"Color influences our purchasing decisions for cars, home appliances, cell phones, clothes, even food and the range of color variations that set products apart are constantly increasing," said Kaoru Morishita, president, Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc.. "Because of this, the places where color measuring instruments are used are shifting from just the development and quality control divisions to the production line itself and from just product manufacturers to makers of parts and materials, and this shift is accelerating. Konica Minolta has supported color control in both R&D and on production lines since our Chroma Meter CR-100 back in 1982. And now both the CM-700d and CM-600d continue our long history of innovation in color measurement and reliable products and services that meet the dynamically changing needs of various customers."

The CM-700d and CM-600d are equipped with color TFT LCDs that enable color patches to be shown for each measurement to allow immediate, intuitive operation. The measurement tips of the spectrophotometers are narrow, so there are fewer limitations on what can be measured, including flat areas, protruding areas and sunken areas. In particular, the CM-700d allows the measurement area to be switched between Ø8mm and Ø3mm to enable measurements of even smaller areas. (The CM-600d has a fixed measurement area of Ø8mm.)

Various optional accessories are also available, such as a target mask with glass over the measurement aperture, a granular materials attachment, and a dust cover to enable
measurements of a wide variety of subjects including pastes, powders, and wet surfaces.

CM-700d / 600d features:
o High performance of a spectrophotometer in a convenient portable body
o Excellent operability through visual color expression - color patches for both target and sample are shown in the display so that the difference that was previously shown as only numerical values can be visually experienced, making the degree of color difference easily understood.
o Capable of measuring diverse subjects
o Bluetooth wireless communication
