Portable Receiver can validate optical modulation and power.

Press Release Summary:

Capable of measuring 15 MHz to 1 GHz ±1 dB power from optical cable and providing 75 W RF output to drive spectrum analyzers, FOS1000A 1000 MHz Optical Receiver can monitor and measure optical modulation index of optical carrier in percent/channel or percent total. It emulates typical wideband optical node used in high quality optical networks, and eliminates need for multiple instruments and optical systems analyzers when setting up, benchmarking, and maintaining transmitters.

Optical Receiver & OMI Instrument Helps Set-up, Benchmark and Maintain Transmitters

A new, portable optical receiver that can monitor and measure the optical modulation index (OMI) of an optical carrier to optimize the performance of CATV, CCTV, and other high quality multi-channel optical networks is being introduced by M2 Optics of Holly Springs, North Carolina.

The FOS1000A 1000 MHz Optical Receiver is designed to emulate a typical wideband optical node widely used in high quality optical networks and can measure the OMI of an optical carrier in percent/channel or percent total. Eliminating the need for multiple instruments and optical systems analyzers when setting up, benchmarking, and maintaining transmitters, this versatile optical receiver can work with a combination of analog and digital channels.

Capable of measuring 15 MHz to 1 GHz ±1dB power from an optical cable and providing a 75 Ohm RF output to drive spectrum analyzers and other network devices, the FOS1000A 1000 MHz Optical Receiver can validate optical modulation, power, and correct percentage of power. Standard features include front panel BCD pushbuttons, controls, and a 48 character, back lit LCD.

The FOS1000A 1000 MHz Optical Receiver is priced at $8,865.00 (list); quantity discounts are available. Literature is available upon request.
