The TX-500VA-4XAO power distribution system from Magnalight is built to provide operators with a reliable source of low voltage 12 or 24 volt power in both VAC and VDC forms while also providing the versatility of allowing operation of standard voltage equipment. This compact power distribution transformer offers operators a portable and convenient source of low voltage power that is ideal for powering lights and appliances in industrial areas where low voltage power sources are desired and yet unavailable. This versatile and durable unit includes an integral carrying handle, elevated base platform for protecting the unit from standing water and weatherproof construction that allows the unit to withstand direct water spray and wetness when the weatherproof outlet covers are closed. This heavy duty transformer features an integrated voltage control which allows operators to raise or lower the voltages provided to equipment connected to this unit.

This power distribution system can provide either 12-24 VDC or 12-24 VAC through its secondary output equipped with four I-520 sockets designed to accept twist lock plugs like Magnalight's EPP-15A and EPP-20A explosion proof plugs. This unit also provides an added degree of versatility and control through the addition of an integrated adjustable voltage switch, which allows operators to increase the voltage levels provided to equipment from the unit to compensate for voltage losses that can occur when very long length extension cords are used. Should operators experience drops in the intensity of illumination produced by lighting equipment because of the use of extra long cords for example, the operator can increase the voltage from 12 to 24 volts to compensate and maintain the light's intensity.
Magnalight has further increased this power transformer's versatility by including 2 GFCI protected outlets designed for compatibility with standard 1523 plugs, enabling operators to run standard voltage equipment and appliances as well as low voltage equipment from this unit. The TX-500VA-4XAO power distribution system includes a 6 foot SOOW cord with standard 1523 plug for connection to 120 VAC. 240 Volt applications require operators to specify their desired plug style at ordering to insure proper compatibility and effectiveness with their intended applications and equipment. Cord wrap brackets are included and suggested applications include plant maintenance, tank cleaning and marine based work operations. This unit is popular for use with explosion proof hand lamps because of its portable convenience and ability to provide multiple low voltage power sources.
"12 volts doesn't carry far and operators will see dim bulbs in their explosion proof drop lights beyond 50 feet.
