Portable Microscopes deliver real-time, flat-field images.

Press Release Summary:

Video-Check Roll and Video-Check Roll-Z produce precise images at magnifications from 25 to 2,350 X. Focusing barrel of both microscopes contains programmable ring of 12 white LEDs to vary illumination effects. Plastic-covered, non-conductive, silicone-free rollers protect targets against damage and unwanted deposits. Video-Check Roll-Z, with digital dial gauge and built-in stepper motor, measures surfaces in increments of 0.5 microns in Z mode.

Portable Measuring Microscope System Now Available

Marcellus NY -Paul Kearney, President, AEI Optics Unlimited, has announced the availability of a compact, high-quality, portable microscope system that delivers exceptional, real-time, flat-field images for use in a variety of industrial applications that require sophisticated inspection for manufacturing and quality-assurance processes. Specific applications include observing and measuring surface finishes, engraving or printing-press cylinder depths, and observing and measuring aircraft skin cracks.

Easy-to-use, the Video-Check Roll and the Video-Check Roll-Z produce precise images at a wide range of magnifications - from 25 to 2,350 times - for quality observations and long-term storage. Their compact sizes permit use in the field where ordinary microscopes cannot go.

The focusing barrel of both microscopes contains a programmable ring of twelve, white LEDs to vary illumination effects from a full ring to specific shadow effects that can assist in observing and measuring flat or curved surfaces. The housing, with a simple-to-handle magnetic holder, allows an operator to change fixed-magnification objectives readily. Plastic-covered, non-conducive, silicone-free rollers protect targets against damage and unwanted deposits.

The Video-Check Roll-Z (VCR-Z) -with a digital-dial gauge and built-in stepper motor- offers additional versatility to measure surfaces precisely to increments of 0.5 microns in the Z-mode. Controlled by a mouse and software, depth measurements can be obtained up to an accuracy of 2 microns. Available accessories offer X and Y measurements at the same accuracy level.

An optional stand, available for both microscopes, provides a stable platform to facilitate accurate adjustments when observing very small specimens. Additional accessories expand
the ability of the imaging system to meet custom applications.
