Meter Aids in Large Engine Maintenance
Users of large gasoline engines pressurizing pipelines and in regional power generating stations are simplifying maintenance and monitoring programs with a portable meter from Kistler Instrument Corp. Type 2515A1 engine peak meter with cylinder pressure indicating, calculation and memory provides a new level of portable convenience.
Designed for piezoelectric pressure sensors, data storage for 36 successive pressure cycles is provided. The instrument can store waveforms from 20 locations. Calculations include the arithmetic mean value of the peak pressure, the standard deviation, the steepest slope of the pressure curve as well as the engine speed.
Measuring error is reduced by a 300 Hz Butterworth low pass filter. A readily available 9-Volt battery provides a 20 hour service life. An LCD provides easy to view indication with RS-232 interface capability.
