Allmand Introduces Portable Light Towers with 15- and 20-Kilowatt Generators

HOLDREGE, Neb. - The new Allmand 15330 and 20330 portable light towers are equipped with larger generators that allow the units to power a variety of auxiliary equipment. The new models also feature Allmand's exclusive SHO (super high output) lamp fixtures and a powerful diesel engine.

To increase job site versatility, the Allmand 15330 and 20330 boast 15- and 20-kilowatt generators, respectively. The generators deliver enough capacity to provide prime power for temporary work trailers and/or power additional lighting or other power tools.

Allmand's exclusive SHO lighting system generates up to 50 percent more lumens per fixture than competitive light towers. The 15330 and 20330 are available with four- or six-SHO fixture configurations carrying metal-halide or high-pressure sodium lights. An optional Saf-T-Visor(TM) attachment reflects previously wasted light directly onto the work site.

The new light towers are powered by an 1,800-rpm, 32-horsepower Isuzu 4LE1 liquid-cooled diesel engine. A removable 50-gallon polyethylene fuel tank allows ample running time for remote locations, while a convenient four-inch oversized filler neck provides easy fueling. The models have a "componentized" ballast assembly that is easily accessible for service.

Corrosion- and dent-resistant molded fenders and heavy-duty enclosures prevent dents, rust and corrosion while increasing durability. Heavy-duty 10-gauge side panels and a 12-gauge hood enhance the strength of the new models.

The models' outriggers and tower support feature a captive latch, eliminating problems associated with troublesome pins. An optional, bi-directional automatic cable reel distributes and retracts electrical cable when the tower is raised or lowered, preventing tangling or breaking. The tower rotates 360 degrees from the ground.

A four-point outrigger system with center-mounted tower assembly delivers stable operation in high-wind conditions. The units can be towed with Allmand's SHO parallel lamp fixtures installed, minimizing set-up time and reducing damage to fixtures that commonly occurs during travel or lamp removal/replacement.

Optional inside lamp storage provides better security of the SHO lamp fixtures when the lighting system is not in use. Other options include high-pressure sodium lamps, sound attenuation and cushion-mounted light fixtures.
