Portable Infrared Thermometers offer wireless connectivity.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing digital signal processing, handheld Cyclops Thermometers provide temperature readings from 550-3,000°C. Cyclops 100 and Cyclops 100B both feature wired RS232C serial communications, while Cyclops 100B also includes Bluetooth wireless communications. Reflex optical system gives 180:1 field of view, permitting clearly defined measurement of targets as small as 4.8 mm at 1 m. Targets as small 0.4 mm dia can be measured using optional close-up lenses.

New Portable Infrared Thermometer Offers Wireless Connectivity

Cyclops portable infrared thermometers have been setting the industry standard for non-contact temperature measurement of high temperature targets for over two decades and the new Cyclops 100 portable infrared thermometers from temperature specialists Land Instruments International move that industry standard higher.

Two models are available - Cyclops 100 and Cyclops 100B. Both thermometers provide wired RS232C serial communications. Cyclops 100B also features enhanced connectivity using user-friendly Bluetooth wireless communications.

These new innovative hand-held thermometers use the latest digital signal processing techniques to provide fast, reliable, precision temperature readings within the range 550 to 3000°C.

Flexible configuration and the simple, language-independent, icon-driven menu system make the C100 extremely user friendly.

The bright, backlit external multi-function graphics panel provides an indication of thermometer status and configuration together with simultaneous displays of continuous, average, peak and valley temperatures. The user-selected mode of temperature is also displayed in the viewfinder.

The precision reflex optical system gives a narrow field of view (180:1, to 98% energy) permitting clearly defined measurement of high temperature targets as small as 4.8mm at 1m distance. Targets as small 0.4mm diameter can also be measured using optional close-up lenses.

The short operating waveband (1.0 micron), with advanced spectral filtering, has been carefully chosen to minimise errors due to uncertainty in emissivity and the effects of atmospheric vapour components.

With an extended emissivity compensation up to 1.20 Cyclops 100 can be programmed to provide reflectivity compensation for measuring targets in hotter surroundings.

Choice of data logged outputs is provided. C100 offers classic, historical and burst mode (up to 35 readings/second) data logging to the optional DL-1000 Data Logger software via a wired connection to HP iPAQ or PC/laptop. The C100B provides the addition of Bluetooth wireless data logging to DL-1000.

Cyclops 100 can provide the user with numerous benefits including: no contamination, interference or damage to the process or material; aids product quality control, maximizes production rates and fuel efficiency.

Cyclops 100 is ruggedly designed, ideal for use in steel, glass, refractories, heat treatment, semi-conductors and many more applications.
