Dolch Expands Portable Line With Rugged Six Slot Model
FlexPAC now available with six full-size PCI or ISA expansion slots.
Fremont, California, January 31, 2002 - Dolch Computer Systems, the world leader in delivering ruggedized portable computer solutions, today announced a new six-slot version in its FlexPAC family of products. Code-named SixPAC, it sports six full-size expansion slots to handle any PCI or ISA add-in card requirement. In addition to more expansion, Dolch customers can select from an Intel Pentium® 4 running at 2 GHz or the Pentium® III running at 1 GHz.
Dolch engineers designed the additional slots into the existing FlexPAC product line without changing the height or width and adding only two inches of depth. From the front, you cannot tell the two models apart. Proprietary cooling designs were developed so that when all six slots are occupied, the system can dissipate up to 150W of heat. An integrated temperature monitoring system and speed sensitive fans provide this ultra-cooling while minimizing noise levels.

Test & measurement companies around the world can now offer more capabilities in the same rugged portable platform. The Pentium® 4 model can support up to 2GB of system memory, while the video memory has been upgraded to 16MB. Various power supplies are available up to 435W capacities. As with all Dolch products. OEM's can get guaranteed configuration control to reduce compatibility issues and limit platform agency certifications.
