MSA Portable Instruments Feature Fresh Air Setup

MSA's line of Portable Gas Detectors offer a convenient Fresh Air Setup feature. This feature allows users to easily "zero out" or eliminate background contaminants, reducing the possibility of inaccurate readings.

When the instrument is turned on the fresh air setup page automatically appears, allowing the user to adjust all gas readings to fresh air values with just the push of a button. The Fresh Air Setup zeroes all sensors in the unit and calibrates the oxygen readout to 20.8 percent. Limits to the Fresh Air Setup help to prevent the user from accidentally zeroing out hazardous readings.

For user protection, the Fresh Air Setup will not function if it is activated in a non-fresh air environment. Further, if a dangerous level of gas is present, the instrument will ignore the Fresh Air Setup and go into alarm.
