Photovac Launches the DataFID(TM) Flame Ionization Detector

WALTHAM, MA, - Photovac, Inc., the leading manufacturer of advanced instruments for volatile organic compound analysis in air, is pleased to introduce the new DataFID flame ionization detector

Fast measurement of volatile organic compound (VOC) exposure is essential for industrial hygiene, emergency response, and environmental monitoring applications; and, the DataFID flame ionization detector from Photovac offers this capability in a portable and easy to operate instrument. The DataFID (patents pending) features a built-in Bluetooth device to transfer data wirelessly to a PDA or computer. A unique metal hydride hydrogen fuel cylinder supplies up to 70 hours of continuous use, thereby saving valuable time by allowing multiple shifts to use the DataFID without returning for a refill. The hydrogen cylinder is UN3468 classified, so it can be shipped full of hydrogen via air cargo. For the first time, an optional supplemental air tank provides readings in high concentration environments up to 100,000 ppm and in oxygendeprived locations such as high altitudes. The DataFID meets and exceeds the requirements of EPA Method 21 for fugitive emissions, also known as leak detection and repair (LDAR). It is rated intrinsically safe for use in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous environments.
