New Line of Portable Battery Chargers for Charging and Maintaining Applications
NAPA, Ca - March 29, 2006 - Guest® Industrial now offers a full line of portable battery chargers with ten new models ranging from 0.75 to 10 amps of charging power for 12 or 24-volt battery systems. Their epoxy-potted cases are the ultimate in durability for harsh-environment use: they are shockproof, waterproof and can withstand numerous caustic chemicals and gasses for use in charging batteries in vehicles and other battery-operated equipment in industrial and commercial locations.
Guest battery chargers use electronic switching technology so they are ideally suited to charge and maintain batteries without overcharging. They feature Guest's Three-Stage Charging Modes, so a charger can remain connected to the battery indefinitely without harm. In addition, unlike transformer-based chargers which buzz or hum, Guest chargers are completely silent.
Guest chargers are designed to handle input power fluctuating between 100 and 130 vAC, 50 to 60 Hz, and two models are rated for 230-volt applications. All Guest chargers feature a full two-year limited warranty.

Guest Three-Stage Charging
Bulk Stage: The charger uses its full amp output (constant current), while the battery
voltage rises.
Absorption Stage: The charger regulates the battery voltage at a peak level (constant voltage) while the current flow to the battery decreases.
Float or Maintenance Stage: Unlike some "trickle chargers, " which apply a constant current to the battery, the Guest float-charge technology only supplies current at the rate it will be accepted by the battery.
