Polypropylene Film Capacitors target AC applications.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring built-in Fuseac technology to protect against overheating, 5MPF Series is housed in aluminum cylindrical can with plastic header, radial terminals, and mounting bolt to meet power management systems' requirements. Internal fuse electrically disconnects when capacitor's hot spot reaches defined temperature, without deforming case. With voltage ratings of 300, 600, and 900 Vac, capacitors range from 10-250 µF and operate from -40 to +85°C.

Original Press Release:

The New 5MPF Film Capacitor Series - Incorporating Fuseac Technology In The Capacitors' Design For Unparalleled Safety - Was Unveiled At Power Electronics Technology Exposition By Electronic Concepts, Inc.

EATONTOWN, NJ, October 30, 2007 - Following the unveiling of the Company's revolutionary capacitor safety technology, Fuseac, designed to provide certainty against overheating of metallized dry film capacitors, Electronic Concepts chose the Power Electronics Technology Exposition & Conference to introduce the 5MPF Series with its proprietary Fuseac technology built-in for unparalleled safety.

The 5MPF Series polypropylene film capacitor is specifically designed for AC applications with an internal fuse that electrically disconnects when the capacitor's hot spot reaches a defined temperature, without deforming the case. The first among the Company's widely accepted capacitor lines that include Fuseac is housed in an aluminum cylindrical can with plastic header, radial terminals and mounting bolt to meet power management systems' requirements.

Features of 5MPF include:
o AC voltages: 300, 600 and 900 VAC
o Capacitances: 10µF to 250µF
o Operating temperatures: -40°C to +85°C
o Permanent thermal disconnect, preventing catastrophic failures
o Inverter output filtering, for Wye and Delta circuits

About Fuseac Technology:
The Fuseac technology provides power management systems certainty against overheating of metallized dry film capacitors, which may cause a catastrophic failure, especially in AC applications. Inherently, the technology's fuse is designed to electrically disconnect upon detecting the hazardous condition. Fuseac provides a new level of control to potential overheating, especially in AC applications where situations may cause catastrophic failure, by having its patent pending fuse technology intuitively disconnect upon detecting the hazardous condition. FuseacT is a patent pending technology and on request can be incorporated in a host of Electronic Concepts products, especially into designs needing added overheating protection.

About Electronic Concepts:
