Sealed Air Corporation Introduces Cellu-Cushion® PB Foam

New Polymer Blend Foam Has Multiple Uses

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (February 24, 2003) - Sealed Air Corporation, a leading manufacturer of protective packaging, introduces Cellu-Cushion® PB foam, an extruded blend of polymers that provide a high performance cushioning material that is stiffer and smoother than standard foam materials.

Cellu-Cushion® PB foam creates a unique, high performance material that is durable, yet flexible and satisfies a host of protective packaging needs. The foam also is recyclable and easy to fabricate for use with a variety of items.

The versatility of Cellu-Cushion® PB foam allows for its use as a reusable automotive/OEM tote. An entire tote can be formed from a single sheet of Cellu-Cushion® PB foam, providing cushioning and surface protection. The foam also can be used as dividers or partitions in reusable automotive/OEM totes. The stiffness of the foam allows it to work well as a divider that provides some cushioning and surface protection. The foam is impervious to most chemicals and performs consistently over a wide range of temperatures.

Because Cellu-Cushion® PB foam is made from a blend of resins, it can be laminated to both polypropylene or polyethylene materials and body board cores. The rigidity and flexibility of the foam offers great protection for packaging glass items such as windshields, windows and glassware. In addition to being durable and heat sealable, Cellu-Cushion® PB foam thermoforms very well and does not crack or tear in deep draw thermoforming applications.
