Polycom and Sphere Communications Deliver Department of Defense JITC PBX1 Capabilities


DoD's Joint Interoperability Test Command recognizes Polycom IP Phones in PBX1 certification, the U.S. government's most rigorous testing for reliability, resilience and interoperability.

(NASDAQ:PLCM) announced today that it has achieved U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) PBX1 certification for Polycom IP Phones with the Sphere Communications Sphericall IP PBX. Polycom will demonstrate its full line of VoIP phones at the FOSE Conference and Expo taking place March 7-9, 2006 at the Washington Convention Center (Polycom Booth #1213).

The DoD's Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) PBX1 certification is required for DoD organizations to deploy Polycom IP phones with Sphericall IP PBX in mission-critical Command and Control environments, and deliver assured connectivity across multiple Assured Services Voice Application Local Area Networks.
