Mircom Introduces TX3-CX-1, an Innovative PoE Single Door Controller

TORONTO, -- Mircom is proud to introduce the TX3-CX-1, a single door PoE controller with a unique design that simplifies access control, to its TX3 line of Communications & Security Solutions. Mircom will show off this new solution at ISC West 2015, where the TX3-CX-1 is a SIA New Product Showcase participant in the Access Control category.

The TX3-CX-1 provides all the essentials for a door controller, in addition to extra features. For example, this solution easily mounts onto a standard single gang electrical box and features a built-in proximity reader that can be networked using TIA/EIA-485 and/or TCP/IP.

The TX3-CX-1 has all the capabilities to control a single door including 12 VDC, 700mA of local power for a door strike. An additional Wiegand card reader can be attached to mount outside and an optical tamper switch ensures immediate notification of tampering.

"The market is seeking a simple, and labor and cost saving solution for outfitting an access point that can either be a standalone controller or a networked solution," said David Ito, Product Manager, Mircom. "Traditional door controllers are bulky and require all the door peripheral devices to be wired back to a panel cabinet mounted remotely. Mircom's TX3-CX-1 edge device significantly simplifies the installation and wiring process."

The TX3-CX-1 is the ideal solution for any door that requires access control where wiring to a traditional metal cabinet is difficult, any access point that requires access control at the edge of the network using TIA/EIA-485 or TCP/IP, or any access point that only has DC or PoE available.

The controller has a built-in 125 KHz proximity reader and mini USB for stand-alone applications. A second Wiegand card reader can simply be connected for exterior applications. The TX3-CX-1, when networked, is extremely versatile since it uses both TIA/EIA-485 and TCP/IP. The power of the TX3-CX-1 is its compatibility to the entire TX3 platform of voice entry panels, elevator restriction and Aperio wireless devices. Essentially, there is no limit to this solution's scalability.
