Pneumatic Clamps suit delicate workholding applications.

Press Release Summary:

Intended for installations where hydraulic power is not suitable, Pneumatic Swing Cylinder Clamps offer sensing capability that allows for control and monitoring of clamping position. Units exert clamping force of 20-160 lb without deforming delicate parts, and clamping arm swings 90°, minimizing obstruction. Adaptable to welding and assembly operations on metallic and non-metallic products, devices clamp variety of part sizes using 3/8-½ in. clamping stroke.

DE-STA-CO's Pneumatic Swing Cylinder Clamps Provide Strength and Cycle Time Reduction For Delicate Workholding Applications

Madison Heights, Michigan, September 27, 2005- Ideal for installations where hydraulic power is not suitable, DE-STA-CO's new line of pneumatic swing cylinder clamps offer an enhanced sensing capability, which allows for precise control and monitoring of the clamping position. This particular line of pneumatic swing cylinder clamps exerts a clamping force ranging from 20 lbs. to 160 lbs. without deforming delicate parts.

Especially well-suited for secondary manufacturing operations, these versatile clamps offer a combination of features, making them uniquely adaptable to welding and assembly operations on metallic or non-metallic products. The 90° swing of the clamping arm minimizes obstruction in the workplace and reduces cycle time through easy load and unload of parts. Additionally, the new line features the ability to clamp a wide variety of part sizes using its 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. clamping stroke.

The clamps' improved design features additional hardware effectively securing the clamp housing, and a threaded body that permits three mounting options. A block-style mounting body is also available. Multiple mounting options allow the clamp to be best adapted to individual fixtures' specifications with minimal installation time.

In addition, the internal piston design features new seal technology and the quick swing-and-clamp movement greatly reduces cycle time operation. The pneumatic swing cylinder clamps are well suited to operation in variant temperatures, ranging from -40° to 250°F.

DE-STA-CO will feature its line of pneumatic swing cylinder clamps at this year's ATExpo in booth #311. ATExpo is being held September 27 to September 29 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
