Original Press Release:
Flush Plugs from CPV Protect Valve Components During Flushing and Cleaning
Philadelphia, PA (August 23, 2002) - To extend the life of CPV O-Seal valves, operators must protect them during cleaning and flushing. O-Seal valves are engineered to provide leakproof assurance to 6000 psi in liquids and gases, but valve reliability can be compromised by exposure to corrosive chemicals. For this reason operators should always replace the valve cartridges with CPV O-Seal Flush Plugs when cleaning and flushing.
Flush Plugs can be used to isolate a section for cleaning or flushing by replacing the valve cartridges at either end the affected area. The valves in the rest of the system can't be contaminated. Threaded openings in the top of each plug permit convenient connection to the flushing pump.
The valves inside the area being cleaned or flushed can also be protected by removing those valve cartridges and replacing them with CPV Flow-Thru Flush Plugs.
