Plex Online Replaces Infor ERP at IMS Gear
ERP Solution Provides German Gear Manufacturer Flexibility, Improved Efficiency
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Plex Systems, Inc., provider of Plex Online ERP manufacturing software, today announced IMS Gear, the Germany-based 140-year-old international expert in gear wheel engineering and gear systems, is transitioning from Infor ERP to Plex Online at its multiple manufacturing plants which are located in Germany, Mexico and the United States. At the same time, Plex announced that the Plex Online solution has been certified for use by the German tax authorities.
"IMS Gear worked diligently with Plex Systems to ensure that we met both their own internal requirements, and the stringent requirements of the German tax authorities," said Plex Systems Executive Vice President Tom Mackey. "This German certification and the IMS Gear contract are milestones for Plex Systems, and for the software as a service industry."
Plex Online met the requirements of the German government to adhere to its national GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) financial requirements, and worked with German tax authorities to provide required access to financial information required for calculating taxes. Plex Online's software as a service (SaaS) model and "anywhere, anytime" access actually simplified data collection and reporting for the German tax authorities, as compared to legacy, on-premise ERP solutions.
Plex Online is a comprehensive solution for manufacturers, including traditional ERP financial functions as well as shop-floor functions such as quality, engineering, traceability, supplier management and more.
"We opted for Plex Online as our ERP system of choice because of its comprehensive functionality, ability to consolidate data from our various manufacturing locations, and its secure infrastructure," stated IMS Gear CEO/CFO Clemens Rosenstiel. "Plex Online is the solution that best met our current and anticipated needs. We are confident Plex Online will help us grow in the global marketplace."
"Plex Online is uniquely capable of meeting the needs of our expanding, global user community, regardless of location," said Mackey. "Plex Online, as a SaaS solution, provides a real-time view of all aspects of business operations and manufacturing processes without the large, up-front expenses, hardware infrastructure and continued maintenance costs required for traditional, on-premise ERP systems."
