GE's New SimPleat* Pleated Filter Elements for Industrial Air Filtration Offer Superior Performance, Better Economics than Traditional Technology

  • Built on Proven Pleated Designs That Have Helped Reduce Baghouse Operational Costs up to 60 Percent
  • Increased Filtration Surface Area by Three to Four Times Can Require Fewer Filters and Reduce Compressed Air Usage
  • Easy Installation, No Retrofit Typically Required

KANSAS CITY, MO.-GE (NYSE: GE) today introduced SimPleat* pleated filter elements for industrial air filtration. Building on the proven high performance of GE's PulsePleat* filters, the new coreless SimPleat filters now provide an option for customers to upgrade more cost-effectively from traditional bag-and-cage technology. The new filters are suited to many process applications such as dryers, extruders, pill coating and tableting, mills and crushers, mixers, blenders, packaging lines, nuisance-dust control systems and bin/silo vents.

GE's SimPleat filters represent an economic yet higher-performance alternative to bag-and-cage technology. With a filtration surface area up to four times greater than standard filter bags, they can help upgrade filtration system performance and increase equipment throughput. The new GE SimPleat filter elements are available for use in applications up to 180°F (82°C). Their simple one-step installation process typically requires no modification to existing industrial baghouse equipment, helping reduce maintenance time and costs.

"Economy and high performance don't always go together, but when they do it's a win-win for customers who are looking for every business advantage," said Bryan Yetter, product manager-Environmental Services for GE Power & Water. "As a diversified manufacturer, GE knows the importance of deploying the latest technology to optimize production processes at the lowest total cost, and the new SimPleat filter elements were developed with those specific goals in mind. They are an example of how GE strives to understand customer needs and then provides best-in-class products and services that enable customers to meet them."

The new SimPleat line is part of a broad range of products and services available from GE for air-filtration applications, including pleated filter elements in many styles, configurations and pressure/temperature options; baghouse operational components; membrane technologies; acoustic cleaning systems and other offerings.
