PLC Features Analog Current Sensing of PWM Outputs

FREDERICKTOWN, OHIO - Divelbiss Corporation, providing cost-effective customized solutions to standard industrial automation and control problems since 1974, announces the HEC-4000-E-R addition to the HEC family of Harsh Environment Controllers.

Based on patented* PLC on a ChipT technology, the HEC-4000 series controller allows for programmable intelligence under less than ideal conditions due to a sealed, water-tight enclosure with pluggable connectors. The standard enclosure is submersible to three feet and is screw and sub-plate mountable. The HEC-4000-E-R is programmed using Divelbiss EZ Ladder software which supports ladder diagram with function block programming.

The HEC-4000 Series features extended operating temperature range from -40° to 80° C and 8 to 32 VDC input power. The I/O includes four (4) 8-32 VDC inputs (two are 40 kHz high-speed counters); six (6) digital outputs rated to four amps with automatic over-current safety and programmable status monitoring. Four (4) of the outputs are selectable as PWM with internal analog current sensing variables to allow closed loop control of the output loads. There are also four (4) analog inputs factory set to 0 - 20ma or 0 - 5VDC when ordered. Network communication is accomplished via the CAN port or by using a second (optional) serial communication port. Expansion I/O includes both digital and analog with allowance for future custom modules as required.

Typical industrial use includes improved proportional valve control via closed loop, control for engine driven pumps and compressors, mobile asset management and tracking, intelligent mining or oil field equipment, conveyor systems, and marine application. The 8 to 32 VDC input power and wide operating temperature range ( -40° to +80° C ) is particularly useful for ease in utilization by off-highway and marine platforms.
