Platinum Process Thermocouples

Durex Industries, Cary, Illinois, manufactures high-temperature platinum element thermocouples for temperatures in excess of 3000°F. Platinum thermocouples are the best choice for extended, repeatable service at high-elevated temperatures. Various protection designs include the use of ceramic, metal, ceramic metal and refractory materials. Two typical designs include the use of a primary tube for protection or the platinum element along with a secondary protection tube to prevent thermo-shock or contamination. Platinum thermocouples with protection tubes are mounted with fixed fitting or flanges designed for the application. Multiple termination options are provided, based on specific wiring requirements. These termination options include high temperature ceramic plugs, aluminum or cast iron screen cover heads, or explosion-proof heads with specific NEMA requirements.
