Vineland, Ontario, Canada - Plastruct Canada Inc. is now manufacturing Brickboards for brick, paver and block load containment during transportation with flatbed trucks. Plastruct also produces molded Wareboards for drywall and other building supplies during transportation.
Flatbed trucks are vehicles in which the trailer portion of the truck is a flat body or bed with no sides or roof to the trailer. Trucks of this type are considered ideal for transporting goods that need to be unloaded quickly from the sides as well as the rear. In most cases, the goods will be durable items that do not require protection of the elements during the transport from the point of origin to the point of delivery.
Wareboards and brick boards are the best solution for securing flatbed loads, protecting your tie down straps while providing a professional image. DOT and MTO requirements specify that all brick and block loads should be loaded in such a way as to assure that no pieces loosen during transporting, endangering others on the road. Accidents have occurred as the load shifts during transporting and if there is a sudden directional change, swerve or stop the straps could loosen or snap.
Brickboards must also be used if the strap is in any danger of being damaged by the freight. The Brick boards can be designed to cover the entire load, more effectively than any other product available providing less chance of a brick or block to fall out.
The brick and stone industry especially will benefit from this technology as concrete blocks, bricks; interlocking paving stones are especially tough on straps and are hard loads to contain. The ware boards contain and secure the load while providing longer strap life. Plastructs' ware and brickboards are engineered to be tough enough for the brick and block industry. They are manufactured from a specially formulated polymer resin that will provide years of continuous use in any weather conditions. Plastruct Canada Inc. can manufacture these load containment devices in a variety of sizes and colours with UV protection for the sunniest and hottest locations. They are lightweight, weatherproof, and crack resistant. Available colours are: black, blue, green, grey, red and yellow.
Wareboard or brickboards aid in load straps compensation for load settling or shifting. The wareboards allow the strap to retain even tension on both sides of the load at all
times for added insurance.
