Ultrasonic Plastic Welding System with ATP

Wilmington, MA. Stapla Ultrasonics introduces its K35-XT ultrasonic plastic welding system that combines a rigid cast alloy column for weld consistency with advanced technologies including automatic tooling protection-ATP. Computer control, position sensing and precise servomoter control are elements of Stapla's ATP feature that work in unison to prevent accidental horn to fixture contact.

The K35-XT system combines Stapla's plastic welder with a state of the art controller. K35-XT's advanced technology enables consistently high joint strength by automatic compensation for part variation within tolerances during the weld cycle. This capability is achieved by measuring weld depth, referencing tolerance values and applying a self-calibrated force.

K35-XT specs include operating frequency of 35 kHz, ultrasonic power of 900 W from a digital generator, supply voltage of 230 VAC and programmable amplitude from 30 to 100%. Trigger force is 2.5 to 200 lbf and weld force is 2.5 to 200 lbf. Height is adjustable over a 6 in range and weld horn stroke length is 2 in.

Other key K35-XT features include user-friendly one-control button/knob interface speeds set-up with easy access to program and parameter setting screens while including password protection, an indexed exchange system for quick change of welding tools, self-diagnostics, and weld graph displays.

Industries which the Stapla K35-XT finds applications include automotive, medical, packaging, computer, data and tele-communications, toy and others.
