Plastic Silicon Pressure Sensors range from 1-5 psi.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with on-board signal conditioning, ASDX/ASDX-DO Series are used with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids, such as air and dry gases. Units are fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and non-linearity using on-board ASIC. Featuring compensated analog output, ASDX Series provides ratiometric 12-bit analog output, while ASDX-DO Series with compensated 14-bit digital output provides I2C or SPI digital interface.

Honeywell Introduces Upgraded Low-Pressure Plastic Silicon Pressure Sensors that Improve Performance and May Help Reduce Manufacturing Costs

MINNEAPOLIS, May 11, 2009 - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has expanded its industry-leading ASDX plastic silicon pressure sensor family with the new ASDX Series and ASDX-DO Series, which offer pressure ranges from 1 psi to 5 psi and on-board signal conditioning.

The on-board signal conditioning allows the customer to remove those components from their PC board to free space, may reduce their acquisition, inventory, and assembly costs, and minimize potential problems from having multiple signal conditioning components spread across a circuit board.

These low-pressure sensors are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids, such as air and dry gases. Potential industrial and medical applications include barometry, flow calibrators, gas-flow instrumentation, sleep apnea/therapy equipment, pneumatic controls, and ventilation/airflow monitors.

The ASDX and ASDX-DO Series pressure sensors are fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and non-linearity using an on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Calibrated output values for pressure are updated at approximately 1 kHz.

The ASDX Series with compensated analog output provides a ratiometric 12 bit analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, typically allowing for fast and easy integration into standard electronic circuits. The ASDX-DO Series with compensated 14 bit digital output provides either an I2C or SPI digital interface for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, minimizing connections, providing higher resolution, and faster performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to the microprocessors or microcontrollers.
