Plastic Ingenuity to Feature Innovative Technology at Pack Expo 2013
Chicago, IL – Each year, Pack Expo brings together some of the most innovative minds and largest manufacturers in the packaging industry for three days of exhibits, product launches and demonstrations. At this year's expo in Las Vegas, September 23-25, international packaging company Plastic Ingenuity plans to debut not only a new clamshell packaging design, but also a new, cost-saving manufacturing technology.
First, Plastic Ingenuity will unveil its latest easy-open clamshell packaging design, created for the retail industry with no sharp edges. The packaging company will have samples of the no-sharps, easy-open feature available at their booth. Additionally, PI will have additional new technologies on display that can help companies reduce their lead times and costs.
One such technology involves a special coining process when plastic packaging is thermoformed, which eliminates the need for traditional, secondary stamping operations, and makes for a more durable symbol. This technology can make plastic packaging manufacturing more efficient and more cost-effective.
