Hypertherm Announces Enhanced Access to PowermaxEDGE "Sensor(TM) PHC" for Integration Made Easy

Hanover, NH, USA - Hypertherm's new PowermaxEDGE Sensor PHC, a "bundled" solution combining a Powermax® G3 Series(TM) plasma system and the Sensor PHC automatic plasma height control, is now available to all authorized Powermax distributors and OEMs. The PowermaxEDGE Sensor PHC provides "integration made easy" for entry-level mechanized air plasma cutting and for retrofits of existing oxy-fuel and plasma tables.

The PowermaxEDGE Sensor PHC integrated package is specifically engineered to deliver quick installation, ease-of-use and excellent performance - all at a price point lower than prior offerings. The Sensor PHC portion of the bundle is an easy-to-use automatic plasma height control that maximizes cut quality and improves consumable life. Integrated with a specially configured Powermax G3 Series mechanized air plasma system, the Sensor PHC utilizes arc voltage sensing to optimize torch standoff, producing superior cut quality and operating performance versus mechanical or manual height controls. Designed for easy integration to CNC tables as either a new installation or as a retrofit, it features simple operational controls and fault indicators.

Hypertherm provides a single part number for the integrated package and a single point of contact for ordering and service, further enhancing the "integration made easy" promise.

The PowermaxEDGE Sensor PHC can be configured to customers' specific cutting requirements by selecting among three Powermax plasma systems. The Powermax1000, Powermax1250 and Powermax1650 each feature patented Coaxial-assist(TM) Jet technology as well as advanced torch and power supply designs to cut thicker plates, at faster speeds, with better overall cut quality and consumable life than the competition. The PowermaxEDGE with a Powermax1650 cuts up to 88 inches per minute (2235 mm per minute) on 1/2-inch thick plate (12 mm).

The PowermaxEDGE bundles were first introduced to a limited group of automation-authorized Hypertherm channel partners in March 2007. "Increasing access to the PowermaxEDGE Sensor PHC demonstrates our commitment to helping our channel partners successfully move their customers up the plasma cutting technology curve by offering simple value-added automation solutions," said Evan Smith, Hypertherm vice president and general manager. "This is really where Hypertherm stands apart from all other plasma suppliers in the breadth and depth of capability that we bring to manual, mechanized and integrated automation solutions - to all channel partners."

Since 1968, Hypertherm has been the industry leader in plasma arc cutting equipment and service. Now, with its entry into the plate-laser cutting market, Hypertherm expands its technology leadership commitment. By continually delivering breakthrough advances in metal-cutting productivity and precision - first in plasma, now also in laser - Hypertherm reaffirms and extends its position as the world's leading supplier of advanced high temperature metal cutting technology. Hypertherm serves a wide range of industrial metal cutting needs from its headquarters in Hanover, New Hampshire, with subsidiaries, sales offices and partner representation worldwide.
