New RAMPAGE! Plasma Cutting System Produces More Parts, Faster at Lower Cost

Rockford, IL - April 2003 - W.A. Whitney, the Leader in Plate Technology, introduced RAMPAGE!, a new, faster plasma cutting system, during their 2003 Open House event.

RAMPAGE! increases cutting speeds by 40 to 50 percent in mild steel through one inch thick using 200 amps. Cut quality is maintained and operating costs are the same or lower than previous plasma systems.

"This technology solidifies punch/plasma's leadership position as the lowest cost fabrication process," says Al Julian, Whitney Marketing Manager. "With the new RAMPAGE! System, fabricators can manufacture parts for much lower cost than before - without any loss of quality."

Mancor Industries in Oakville, Ontario, tested RAMPAGE! on their three Whitney machines. Running the machines non-stop for two weeks, they found a substantial economic advantage with the new plasma system.

Dale Harper, Vice President and General Manager, says, "I'll be introducing this process to the other facilities as part of our 'best practices' program." Mancor's sister plant in South Carolina also has three Whitney machines.

RAMPAGE! Plasma Cutting system is now standard on all 3400 XP punch/plasma combination machines. It is also available as an economically priced retrofit for existing Whitney users.
